Product Overview

Generally, male pigeons have ZZ sex chromosomes, while female pigeons have ZW chromosomes. Pigeon gender cannot be directly determined by visual appearance, as they lack obvious sexual characteristics. However, by extracting DNA samples from pigeons for genetic testing, their gender can be accurately identified. This method takes advantage of the differences in the sex chromosomes of pigeons. Gender is determined by detecting the presence or absence of specific gene fragments.

Instrument Structure

The Pigeon / Parrot Sex Detector is a real-time reaction detection instrument, mainly composed of a gene amplification thermal cycler system, a real-time fluorescence detection system, a microcircuit control system, and a computer with application software. Among them, the two core functional modules are the thermal cycler system and the real-time fluorescence detection system.
The gene amplification thermal cycler works on a principle similar to that of conventional gene amplifiers, using semiconductor heating and cooling to complete the thermal cycling process. The fluorescence detection system mainly consists of a fluorescence excitation unit, optical signal transmission components, a fluorescence detection unit, and a control system.
